Route Overview

A varied journey through Kilimanjaro's southern landscapes

The Machame Route is one of Kilimanjaro's most scenic climbing trails, crossing rainforest, moorland, volcanic ridges and alpine desert.

The seven-day schedule includes a separate night at Karanga Camp, creating a more gradual approach before Barafu summit camp.

Important climb-high and sleep-low sections around Lava Tower support acclimatization before the summit attempt.
